Scott Low joins Pursuing the Muse this week to talk about his songwriting and his journey. Scott has made music in many genres from rap battles to jazz to roots rock to his current incarnation doing resonator slide guitar. Scott has a stellar new album out called, “The Appalachian Blues” which the blues community has embraced for its raw authenticity reflected in the bottleneck slide guitar/resonator combination.
Scott has a deep knowledge of music. He traces things back to how it all may have emerged through the genius of Charley Patton. Scott also has metaphors and insights to how writing and performing songs can be like managing a baseball team or picking up a fly fishing rod.
I first heard Scott with his ahead of its time band, Efren, which also has albums worth going back to and checking out.
